Biography
My name is Danny Spewak, and I'm a nightside reporter at KARE 11 News in Minneapolis. I joined KARE in May 2018 after spending five years as a reporter at WGRZ-TV, the NBC affiliate serving Buffalo and Western New York. I grew up in St. Louis and graduated from the University of Missouri with dual degrees in journalism and political science.
I'm also a nonfiction author, with two books on sports history published by the academic press Rowman & Littlefield. My first book, "From the Gridiron to the Battlefield: Minnesota's March to a College Football Title and into World War II," was a finalist for the Minnesota Book Awards. My second book, "Cardinal Dreams: The Legacy of Charlie Peete and a Life Cut Short," was released in March 2024.
